I went up to the fair on Thursday for the 2009 Twilight Photo Shootout with Fred Greaves.
To begin I picked up my ticket from the will call booth, went through the security check point and then made my way up to the second floor of the East Grandstand. I signed in and received a name tag and participant ribbon which I had to wear on my chest for the contest. The rules were explained and then the mystery item was revealed to everyone, which was a kazoo. We had about an hour and half to photograph the kazoo on the fairgrounds, choose a single photograph to upload and then all of the photos would be presented in a slideshow to be judged.
Below are some of the photos I took in about 40 minutes. I wasted a lot of time wandering around looking for a background before I decided to go with portraits, which was out of my comfort zone.
